A good compromise between thinness and the ability to make blind splice loops as suggested in our fly line set-up guide. It’s easier to knot than brands that are very thin but have too tight a weave for a blind splice loop.

Fly line backing is what goes on your fly reel before the fly line itself. Usually 100 to 300 yards of backing is used but check with your fly reel manufacturer for the rmended amount specific to your fly reel.
